Biografia
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (University of Coimbra), Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (University of Coimbra) and PhD in Biosciences (University of Coimbra and CSIC). Founder, President and CEO of BLC3 (Technology and Innovation Campus) and President of CECOLAB (Collaborative Laboratory Towards a Circular Economy) and Founder of Association ALL - Assoiciação Portuguesa para a Bioeconomia e Economia Circular; Coordinator of the Research Unit "Centre Bio: Biorefineries, Bioindustries and Bioproducts" and coordinator of the Research Infrastructure of National Strategic Interest in Circular Economy. Creator of an R&D network of more than 60 entities, from 9 European countries, in the areas of Bioeconomy and Circular Economy. In addition to confidential projects, he has co-ordinated 58 R&D projects as Principal Investigator (most of them in co-operation with companies), representing a total investment of more than 37 million euros. Accompanied and supported the birth of 44 startups.
